On Tuesday, a young man with disabilities was viciously attacked in Chicago and the video was streamed on Facebook Live. It goes without saying this is horrific news and Special Olympics condemns it.

As Tim Shriver, Special Olympics Chairman, said in a statement about this incident, “We are deeply saddened and horrified by the unspeakable attack of a young man with disabilities in Chicago...Sadly, people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities are all too routinely victims of exploitation, misunderstanding and even violence.”

Tim, Special Olympics, and I stand against discrimination. Join us today and pledge to stop discrimination, bullying and inhumane acts of violence.
