AADMD 15th Annual Education Conference

Presentation Guidelines

Topics: Any topic inclusive of healthcare and patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities will be considered for this conference. Special areas of interest include, but are not limit to: Administration and Policy, Advocacy, Aging and Dementia, Care Management, Clinical Innovation, Community Supports, Aiding Families, Education and Training, Health, Behavior, and Physical Care, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Living Settings, Physical Fitness, Research, Screening, Assessment, Diagnosis, Wellness/Health Promotion.

Presentation Format: All presentations should be in PowerPoint format. Projectors, screens, microphones and other audiovisual devices will be provided at the event.

Audience: The audience will consist of a range of healthcare professionals and developmental disability-oriented workers concerned about health matters affecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Also, included will be residents and students from a variety of medical and healthcare specialties, as well as family members and self-advocates.

Honoraria and Expense Reimbursement: As a matter of policy the AADMD will not pay honoraria to speakers. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed, except under special circumstances. Such special reimbursement must be agreed upon prior to the conference date. Health profession students and residents selected to present at the annual conference may be given a travel and hotel stipend.

Submission Deadline Extended: March 15, 2017, at 9 pm EDT.

Notification:  If your presentation has been selected, you will be notified in early April.

Poster Guidelines

Poster Format: The size of the poster should not exceed 36” in height and 48” in width.

Audience: The audience will consist of a range of healthcare professionals and developmental disability-oriented workers concerned about health matters affecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Also, included will be residents and students from a variety of medical and healthcare specialties, as well as family members and self-advocates.

Submission Deadline Extended: April 15, 2017, at 9 pm EDT.

Notification: If your poster has been selected, you will be notified no later than April 30, 2017, if you submitted your proposal by March 31, 2017.
