Noteworthy information brochure for parents regarding organ transplantation for individuals with developmental disabilities. Several years ago it required the Supreme Court (California) to provide the justice in a case involving a young woman with Down Syndrome to become an organ donor recipient. Several prestigious medical centers "rejected" her appeal for a heart and lung transplant. She finally received it and thrived! The next frontier is in introducing the idea of becoming an organ donor for families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. That too is their right! Our appreciation to the Boggs Center for their production of this Transplant Pamphlet.
