Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day
AADMD INFO BLAST - FOR AADMD MEMBERS
The AADMD embodies the values and vision of Eunice Kennedy Shriver. This letter from our dear friend and colleague Tim Shriver outlines plans for the upcoming Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day. I am confident that AADMDers will endeavor to spread the word and get on board with the day of remembrance.

Dear Friends,
For so many years my mother was fiercely committed to inclusion, acceptance,
human dignity, and change. Although a year has gone by since her passing,
her presence remains a powerful force in all of our lives as the work she
inspired continues to grow.
In her honor, we are launching the first ever global Eunice Kennedy Shriver
Day. On 25 September, Special Olympics and Best Buddies will lead the world
in a celebration of the inspiration, impact and indomitable spirit of Eunice
Kennedy Shriver (EKS). Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day is an annual celebration
of her life and a global call for people to carry out EKS ACTS - actions of
inclusion, acceptance and unity for and with people with intellectual
disability.
Last week, we sent out a global press release announcing Eunice Kennedy
Shriver Day. We invite you to help celebrate her legacy by spreading the
word about Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day, and making a commitment to take part
this September. How can you help?
* Go to http://www.eksday.org to add your EKS ACT
of Unity, and challenge your friends and family to do the same.
* Re-tweet my announcement (EKS Day is September 25th! Make your

Thank you for joining the athletes of Special Olympics and buddies of Best
Buddies, the real heroes of this movement that is unifying communities and
expanding opportunities around the world. Help them honor the legacy of
Eunice Kennedy Shriver on 25 September.
