I am a lecturer and scientist based at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London working on Alzheimer’s disease. I would like to draw your attention to an exciting postgraduate course which I think will be of great interest to you and your colleagues. MSc Advanced Care in Dementia
Funding opportunities now available
 
We are looking for highly motivated health and social care professionals who care passionately about improving the lives of people with dementia and wish to advance their careers in this important area.
We invite applications for a one year, full-time MSc in Advanced Care in Dementia at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, U.K.
You will use a blended learning approach involving e-learning, lectures, group work, tutorials and a research project. You will learn:
·         how to integrate biological, psychological and social models of dementia in to professional practice
·         person-centred approaches to dementia care
·         to critically evaluate research evidence and reflect on professional practice to improve dementia care
·         skills and knowledge to undertake research in the area of dementia care
·         evidence based practice in different dementia care settings.
 
The course is taught by world leading professionals and researchers in dementia who have strong international links and research interests in cross cultural comparisons and international practice and policy. For further course details and guidance on how to apply, see:

We will be hosting a “Webinar,” an online introductory seminar where you can learn more about the course, in the week commencing 11thMarch 2013. Funding Opportunities
Prospective students from your country may be eligible for funding to undertake this course. There are a limited number of awards in each of the schemes listed below and so early applications are encouraged. Please note any application needs to be made alongside an online application to MSc Advanced Care in Dementia. The deadline for all applications is 1st March 2013.
