CDC Website on Disability and Health

AADMD INFO BLAST - FOR AADMD MEMBERS

From our friends and colleagues at the CDC, the unveiling of their new Disability and Health website. While not specific for ID/DD it certainly has merit and an abundance of applicable key points to use in teaching healthcare staffers on the fundamentals.

Subject: Announcing CDC's New Disability and Health Website!

dh-homepage.jpgDear All,

We wanted you to be one of the first to know about CDC's new Disability and Health website! We’ve been working hard to create a research-based site that is user-friendly, up-to-date, and appealing.

Some of the new features of the site include:

  • Easy-to-read information on healthy living, secondary conditions, accessibility, and emergency preparedness.
  • A video called, "Mark’s Story." This video tells the story of Mark and his role as a person helping future health care providers improve their care of people with disabilities.
  • A compilation of important data and scientific publications.
  • Individualized pages for different visitors – people with disabilities, women, health care providers, family caregivers, and partners.
  • An overview of the work CDC partners are doing in the area of disability and health.
  • On the home page, we have a box dedicated to data & statistics. This box is "syndicated". That means you can put it on your website, and whenever we update it with new data, it will automatically be updated on your site too. If you're interested in adding this box to your site, please let us know.

Please help spread the word by linking your website to ours. We've created an easy-to-use linking graphic and description. It can be found on the Partners page in the “Get Involved” section: http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/disabilityandhealth/partners.html

Visit our site: www.cdc.gov/disabilitiesBe sure to check back often as we continue to add new content and features!

Thanks for your time and support.

Sincerely,

Disability and Health Team
