On Accepting and not Curing
AADMD INFO BLAST - FOR AADMD MEMBERS
Interesting article on the recent nominee to the National Council on Disability. Ari Ne'eman would be the first person with autism on the National Council on Disability. He is controversial in that he is pushing for society to accept people with autism and not try to cure them. One of the unique aspects of developmental healthcare is that you have to forgo the idea of "cure" (the reason you probably applied to dental and medical in the first place) and reframe your focus. Food for thought.
